1 month

It was strange and wonderful bringing Christina home from the hospital. Strange because all she had ever known was our tiny little hospital room; that was her whole world.

I was very apprehensive about the ride home. Would she fit in her car seat? Would she like her car seat? I sat in back with her ready to pounce if she started to cry. She was so clam all the way home. No crying and she even slept some of the drive. This piece of knowledge came in handy when in the early morning hours the next day we had a hungry baby with no milk to give her. Strange that your milk does not come in until 4 or 5 days after you give birth. Soon after my milk came in.

It was wonderful to be back at home with our newest member of the family. We were so thankful to be at home with our healthy baby. With no machines no nurses we really felt lucky.

Summary of 1st month: Christina would eat for as long as she could stay awake and then sleep until her next feeding two or three hours from the start of her initial feeding. Every other day or so we would give her a sponge bath. Changing somewhere around 25 diapers a day. Every time she would eat or need a diaper change we would un-swaddle her and re-swaddle when done.

Likes: Car rides, being swaddled, being held close, washing/rinsing and combing her hair during bath time

Dislikes: Diaper changes and sponge baths
